Small amounts of cotton yarn – You can use sportsweight/4ply/fingering weight or DK weight yarn. Use hook to match your yarn.
Crochet hook size 2.5 – 3.5mm
Christmas bauble approx 3.5” in diameter

Instructions: (US Terms)
Round 1: Ch 4, 11 dc into 4th ch from hook, join with a sl st into top of beginning ch 3 to join. Fasten off colour. (12dc)
Round 2: Join next colour in a space between any dc of previous round, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc here and throughout), 1 dc in same space, 2 dc in each space around, sl st into top of beginning ch 3 to join. Fasten off colour. (24dc)
Round 3-5: Join next colour in a space between any 2 dc of previous round, ch 3, 2 dc in same space, 3 dc in each space around, sl st into top of beginning ch 3 to join. Fasten off colour. (36 dc)
Round 6: Join next colour to the top of any st, ch 1, 1 sc in same st. Make 1 sc in each st around, join with a sl st to the first sc made and fasten off. Weave in all yarn ends (36 sc)
Repeat rounds 1-6 to make the other half of your ball.
Finishing: Slip both pieces over your Christmas bauble (making sure that right sides are facing out) and start to attach them by sewing firmly together leaving space for the hanging loop of the bauble. If you leave a long thread from the final round, you can use that thread to sew your two pieces together. Fasten off and weave in threads.
