Ingredients
  • 3 Green Popsicle Sticks
  • 1 Purple Popsicle Stick
  • 4" of Twine
  • Sticker Rhinestones
  • Glittery Foam Star Stickers
  • Hot Glue

Instructions
  1. Cut the green popsicle sticks into 6 pieces in ½", 1", 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2" and 3" lengths.
  2. To cut the popsicle sticks, firmly cut into the popsicle stick on both sides of the popsicle stick a few times. Then bend it and it should cleanly snap apart where you scored it.
  3. Add a generous glob of hot glue on the end of the purple popsicle stick, place both ends of the twine on top of the glue, then sandwich the ½" piece of green popsicle stick on top to hold the twine hanger in place.
  4. Line up the remaining 5 green popsicle stick pieces evenly on the purple popsicle stick and glue them in place with hot glue.
  5. Use hot glue to attach the sparkly foam sticker star.
  6. Decorate your tree with the glittery rhinestones!

here’s what you will need:
  • Large Popsicle Sticks
  • Black, white and red paint
  • Cotton balls
  • Pop poms
  • Q-tip
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Ribbon
Instructions
  1. First, you will need to paint ⅔ of your stick with red paint as well as the top portion for the hat.
  2. Once the red paint is dry, add a white stripe at both red edges as well as a black stripe around the center of the popsicle stick. A q-tip works well to make an even line.
  3. Use the back of a paintbrush to add 2 black eyes.
  4. Using the hot glue gun, add a white pom pom to the hat and a yellow pom pom on the black stripe for Santa's belt.
  5. Add a tiny red pom pom for the nose.
  6. For Santa's beard, stretch out a cotton ball and glue it to the bottom of the face.
  7. Glue a loop of red ribbon to the back of the popsicle stick.

10th day of christmas: sock snowmen

10:31:00 0

For this craft, you'll need a pair of old socks that are crew length, or longer. I went through Tanner's bag o' socks in our closet for my set. Don't worry, he'll never miss them -- he owns something like 10,000 pairs of socks, but insists on wearing shorts and flip-flops 365 days a year. Boys...

First, cut off the top of the sock from the foot.

Turn the sock inside out and attach a rubber band tightly to the top of the sock. Then turn the sock right-side out again.

Fill the sock with rice. Make sure to pack it down as you go so the sock gets a nice round base.

Rubber band the top of the sock closed and put another rubber band 3/4 of the way to the top for the head of your snowman.

Now, decorate! Tie a scarf around your snowman's neck and add eyes, nose, and buttons. I used map pins for my eyes. Unfortunately, I didn't have any black ones, so I colored white ones with sharpie and stuck them in.

Use the toe of your cut socks to fashion a stocking cap. Or you could use colored argyle socks to create hats and sweaters for your snowman, as seen at {then she made}.

You can either sew or glue on your buttons, and add embellishments - twine, bows, ribbons, etc - as needed.

This is such a quick and easy craft - 10 minutes tops - that it would be simple to create a whole family of snowmen for your mantle!
